Sports benefit us in many ways. First, sports call make us fit and strong physically. When taking part in sports, we get the chance to train almost all parts of our bodies. Finally, sports can teach us some lessons about life. Through participation, we can learn that on the playground we not only struggle for our own self but also fight for our team. But sports can also bring us a lot of trouble. This is especially true when we cannot planour activities properly. Too much exercise may make us exhausted. Too hard training may hurt us or even make us sick.
I am fond of sports very much. I feel that I not only gain a well balanced life through going in for sports, but also get more chances to make more friends, to move closer to nature. Sports add happiness to my everyday life when I participate in them in a proper way.

Sports provide a positive learning experience that will enhance your child's ability to develop self confidence, good sportsmanship and teamwork skills. Sports also teach all of us to work hard and have a little fun at the same time.

In sports, children are challenged both mentally and physically. Coaches teach the roles of the game, strategy to win, and how to work together. Your child will also build skills, enrance, and strength.

Perhaps the greatest life lessons are learned in sports. Winning does not come easy; you've got to work for it. "Winners never quit and quitters never win." Life isn't fair. Sometimes you give it your all and you still lose. When you lose, pick yourself up and try again.

Younger children learn socialization through sports. Sharing, listening, and following rules are the fundamentals picked up in earlier years of sports.

Self-esteem is something you cannot give your child. We gain positive self-esteem through accomplishments. In sports, your child can reach goals, big and small, and feel good about themselves. It is not important to be the star. Teach your child to strive to reach personal goals.

In sports there are setbacks, defeats and even injuries. How you handle it says a lot about your character. Your child will be a lot happier if he or she learns to take setbacks in stride and concentrates on doing better next time.

If your child decides to play a sport, make sure you are playing your role the best way you can. Don't pressure your child. Instead be supportive and help him or her through any difficulties or conflicts. It's great to practice with your child, but don't be overbearing and make practice feel like a punishment.

Keep your emotions in check. Avoid criticizing your child or others in public and in private. Instead offer help if there is a certain skill he or she can improve. Never humiliate a child.

Sports help prepare your children for the working world, and life in general. Encourage your child to find a team sport that they will enjoy. Continue to talk with them and support them. Your involvement will enhance their experience.

Winning is not the goal. The real goal is your child's mental, physical and emotional development.

Basketball. The world's greatest sport ever. But of course, it hasn't been around since the world began. No, somebody had to have invented it. And that somebody would be James Naismith.

Born in Almonte, Ontario, Canada, this Canadian Gym Teacher and Physician would soon be the founder of basketball. It all started in December of 1891. Naismith was teaching in Springfield, Massachusetts and was asked by Luther H. Gulick, the Headmaster of the school for Christian Works to make a new sport. The main idea of the sport was mainly to be played inside when it was too cold to go outside. The new sport also had to keep athletes in their top conditions between the baseball and football season. Naismith began to work. The first game-ball was a soccer ball.

The first baskets were peach baskets that Naismith cleverly thought of hanging on the wall. From there, the legacy of basketball began. Originally, there was 9 men to each team, but the objective was still the same; to pass the ball to other players on your team and put the ball in the opposing team's net, or basket back then. From there, basketball caught on like a wildfire.

During 1885 highschools and colleges began to adopt the game, and by 1898, the first Pro League was founded. After the first game played, Naismith drafted 13 rules and regulations, but many more were yet to come. The hoops we know today were invented in 1906. They were steel, with a net hanging from it's rim.

in my opinion, i think sports have several benefits. just use playing basketball as an example.
first of all, an healthy body could be gotten by playing basketball. as we all know, having such kinds of sport, like basketball game, means more physical excercise,say, like jumping ,running and so on, which could arouse the vigor of your muscles.
secondly, playing basketball let you have a better mood. some researchs have shown that when you play basketball or other sports, there will be some hormone released in your brain which would lead to happy feelings happen.
in the last place,ring the time you playing basketball, you can acquaint more friends. for most sports are social activities which means it include lots people playing together, the chances are high to get alone well with some new guys and even make friends with them. this would definitely broaden your social network and your extracurriculum life.
