2018吉利汽車寧波國際馬拉松將於10月28日在寧波杭州灣新區鳴槍開賽，賽事規模為人，將由來自全球15個國家，全國27個省市自治區及港澳台選手參與其中，齊聚寧波杭州灣新區領略「灣區」之美。本屆賽事由中國田徑協會、寧波市人民政府、浙江省體育局主辦，寧波杭州灣新區開發建設管理委員會、寧波市體育局共同承辦，北京銘泰體育產業投資有限公司獨家運營。賽事以「開心跑，甬向前」為主題，旨在讓萬名跑友通過賽事感受運動快樂，體會「甬」往直前的馬拉松精神。發布會最為注目的是公布本屆甬馬完賽獎牌。本屆馬拉松獎牌以「甬」字為主設計元素，蘊含三層設計理念。早在春秋時期，寧波就被稱為「甬地」，獎牌「甬」字造型代表著寧波歷史悠久的文化底蘊；「甬」字造型也像杭州灣跨海大橋航道橋造型，象徵杭州灣跨海大橋這座寧波標志性建築；「甬」字造型宛如古代錢幣，表示寧波及杭州灣新區卓越的經濟發展成果。獎牌正面依次排列賽事信息，莊重而簡介；獎牌背面則以杭州灣跨海大橋為主畫面，輔以「開心跑、甬向前」甬馬口號，寓意萬名跑友一起「甬」往直前、奔向未來。獎牌設計細節以古典中國風紋飾點綴，以波浪浮雕代表寧波這座沿海開放城市的城市特質。古今的設計理念，盡顯寧波深厚的人文底蘊，同時傳遞寧波及杭州灣新區開放、創新的城市氣質。
